Dear Medlar View Parents,
Literacy Night Is Coming……
Mark your calendars for “Read Across Miamisburg Literacy Night” on Tuesday, October 14th from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. There is no cost. Dinner will be provided. If you cannot locate your flyer, please call the office at 865-5257 to register. We hope to see you there for this great event!
The PTO Corner….
We have chosen the Market Day “Silver Bells” brochure sale for our fall fundraiser, and the sale kicked off on Friday, October 10. The brochure offers 200+ items, with over 108 exclusive items. It offers a wide variety of items from gift wraps, seasonal candles, jewelry treasures, magazine subscriptions and distinctive gifts! One of the bonuses of this program is that you can order online and have the purchased items delivered directly to you. This is a great option for out-of-town family members! Orders and money need to be turned in on Wednesday, October 22, and items sold can be picked up on November 20.
This month, Medlar View PTO will sponsor the Project: Earth Saver Recycling Contest!
Now through October 22, 2008, bring in any of the following items:
•Used cell phones
•Empty laser, fax, copier, and inkjet cartridges
•Laptops
•Palm Pilots, Blackberries and other PDAs
•iPods
•Video games
•DVD’s (discs, not players)
•Digital cameras
•GPS Units
Items collected can be placed in their Classroom Collection Box. Please see the Project: Earth Saver flyer that came home with your child in their Homework folder for more information and details on how your child gets individual credit for donations.
Students who bring in at least three recyclable items will be entered into a drawing for a Medlar View T-Shirt. Those bringing in at least six items will be entered into a drawing to win an IPod Shuffle! These items can be collected from homes, friends, neighbors, relatives, or parent’s work. If each student brings in just one item, Medlar View could make up to $1000, so imagine if we all brought in several items! Good Luck!
To learn more about Medlar View’s collection program, please contact Kelley Beerbower. For more information, visit www.cartridgesforkids.com.
***We are half-way through the first quarter Box Tops for Education contest. There is still is time to send in those box tops and help your class win the ice cream party and a Starbucks gift card for your teacher!
